I have a hard time putting into words just how amazing the Photo Field trip experience really was for me. Every time I think about it, I get teary eyed. 300 or so photographers from all over the world met in California at a place called El Capitan Canyon. We stayed there for four days. Positive energy just exuded from every corner. We all connected in a way I never thought was possible. Even though the weekend was filled with rain, rain and more rain, we all made the best of it. Yay for rain boots! There were so many amazing speakers there from Dallas Clayton, Yan Palmer, Jill Thomas, Ben Sasso, Benj Haisch, Sean Flanigan, Dan O’Day, Jill Devries, Anna Naphtali, Whitney Chamberlin, Justin Lyon, and so many more. I left California with incredible memories and a huge smile on my face. I know everyone left with a different story and experience, and I love that. I went there with my dear friend Meg Van Kampen. She was an awesome travel buddy. We arrived in Santa Barbara a day early, so we were able to explore the beach town before heading to the mountains. When we arrived at El Capitan Canyon, I was greeted with two matching smiling faces…Ashley and Jamie Hewitt. (Who are the sweetest twins ever!) I couldn’t have had better roommates for my trip. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. This was an experience I will never forget. Thank you to the whole PFT community for putting on an event people will be talking about for years to come. 😉
